Our reconditioning standards

The Cazoo promise

We only sell cars that meet our highest standards and each one is thoroughly inspected and fully reconditioned. We’re very picky and buy less than 5% of the cars that we look at.

We promise each car has:

  • Passed our 150+ point inspection
  • A minimum of 2.5mm tyre treads
  • Completed a road test before going up for sale

Our tyre standards

All our tyres have a minimum tread depth of 2.5mm across at least 80% of the tyre’s width. This is well above the legal limit of 1.6mm.

If a tyre needs replacing, we match it to a new mid-range equivalent. Tyres are matched by tyre size, speed rating and load index.

All Cazoo cars come with either:

  • A full-sized spare tyre
  • A temporary emergency tyre
  • An emergency tyre sealant kit

Cars with run flat tyres don’t need a spare as they can travel around 50 miles with a puncture.

We highlight imperfections

We do our best to fix any cosmetic imperfections, but if there’s something that we can’t quite buff out, we highlight it in the car’s image gallery, so you know exactly what to expect. The imperfections we show may appear in visible areas and can be viewed from two metres away.

What we show in our photos

As we sell used cars, you should expect some general wear and tear relative to the car’s age and mileage.

What isn’t shown in our photos

We don’t include photos of the normal wear and tear that you’d expect from a used car based on its age, mileage and general day-to-day use. This means that minor stone chips, scratches, dents or interior marks may not be shown in the gallery.

Popular FAQs

We own all our cars, so we can guarantee their quality. We spend hundreds of pounds reconditioning every car and we restore each one to the manufacturer’s settings. Find out more.

We check the body exterior, engine, brake system and more. For more detail, see our full list.

A tyre speed rating is the maximum speed that the tyre is legally approved for. Your tyre’s speed rating can be found on the side of the tyres wall.

Generally, the higher in the alphabet a tyre is rated, the better it will manage heat and faster speeds.

If we need to replace a tyre, we'll match the speed rating.

A tyre load rating represents the maximum weight each tyre can carry. Your tyre’s load index can be found on the side of the tyre’s wall.

If we need to replace a tyre, we'll match the load index rating.
